NOOOOO!!!!! i still need to see this band live... maderfather!Britpop fans were crying into their ale this week, when Noel Gallagher announced that he was quitting Oasis, the beloved band he formed almost two decades ago with his brother/enemy, Liam. Following the Manchester group's last-minute decision to pull out of their appearance at the Paris Rock en Seine festival this week (organizers allegedly displayed a message explaining that an "altercation" had caused the cancellation), Noel posted the following wry and characteristically outspoken statement on Oasisinet.com on Friday:
"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."
